Sweet Marina 04:24
All the places you associate with people only to return and find those people gone All the places you associate with people only to return and find those people gone Ah – welcome to a day in my life Ah – welcome to a day in my life In a dream, in a haze, on a breezy summer’s day Your image in my mind that I just can’t shake away And this fog in my eyes, this moment you tantalize Every breath, every effort that I make You see I’m anchored to your bay and there’s nothing I can do or say If I had a god, I would maybe pray for my soul, which can’t be saved So give me that voodoo magic, give me that last nail, that pretty one to seal my fate For there is no tomorrow baby you know there’s only today Sweet marina, won’t you carry me out to sea? You know I’m waiting for your love babe, if you can spare a little bit for me Sweet marina, won’t you carry me out to sea? You know I’m waiting for your love babe, if you can spare a little bit for me Now I’ve washed up on your beach, washed out within your reach Treat my body like a machine, when all it wants to do is sleep In the answer in your hands, your promise in the sand And I will love you if I can, I will keep you if that’s who I am Sweet marina, won’t you carry me out to sea? You know I’m waiting for your love babe, if you can spare a little bit for me Sweet marina, won’t you carry me out to sea? You know I’m waiting for your love babe, if you can spare a little bit for me All the places you associate with people only to return and find those people gone All the places you associate with people only to return and find those people gone All the places you associate with people only to return and find those people gone All the places you associate with people only to return and find those people gone

Cramped into a train, Le Mans to Rennes Oh I wanna go back to sleep Traveling light speed, an overrated deed Oh I wanna go back to sleep And my only mission is a stronger prescription Oh I wanna go back to sleep Cause every decision is another prison Oh I wanna go back to sleep Cause when I sleep, that’s when I’m free from livin’ Oh when I sleep, that’s when I’m free from livin’ In a life in transit playing that devil music Oh I wanna go back to sleep With my worn out sneakers and no more clean shirts Oh I wanna go back to sleep And I’m temptation bound whenever you’re around Oh I wanna go back to sleep But I’m accident prone when you leave me alone Oh I wanna go back to sleep Cause when I sleep, that’s when I’m free from livin’ Oh when I sleep, that’s when I’m free from livin’ Cause when I sleep, that’s when I’m free from livin’ Oh when I sleep, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Livin’ like I’m dyin’ because I’m dyin’ to live Takin' like I’m givin’ because that’s as close as I can get Lovin' like it’s nothing because that’s what it is For I may have been born, but I wasn’t born for this

Late at night, I trace the footprints of the ancients Late at night, I tuck my desires into bed And in the morning, I hang my longing back in the closet Waiting for the night when I can take it out again Waiting for the night when I can take it out again Waiting for the night when I can whip it out again And you ask me if I feel a sense of remorse You ask if I can take what I can give And I say I can show but I’ll never tell, feeling heaven when I’m in hell Feeling that the moment is all that there is Feeling that the moment is all that there is Feeling that the moment is all that there is And I hold tightly to the whip To the love that hurts so good It’s the only thing I ever understood Oh let her, let her, let her have leather Oh let her, let her, let her have leather Oh let her, let her, let her have leather Oh let her, let her, let her have leather And take another piece of me And take another piece of me And take another piece of me And take another piece of me And put me to sleep Oh give me the world on its knees Make me feel whole so you can take your piece Let me drink on up until I’m sweet Then we'll get kicked out for causing a scene, yeah And if I act like I’m not there, it’s because that’s where I’d rather be I’m just working on retuning the strings of my heart I’m just working on retuning the strings of my heart I’m just working on retuning the strings of my heart
5.
I stepped into the light and now I am completely blind I waited in line only to find I was out of time And you say you want something new, but you’re so amused in your own shoes So let me sing my blues as I always do, or attempt to And I think that we could be something together Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah summer forever And you say, “where are you from? Do you live from your songs? Oh what’s your job?” “you’ve been gone pretty long. When do you go home?” Well, the answer’s never For I’m just floating along. It’s where I belong. Smoke in my lungs For it’s so fun to be so young. It’s gonna last forever And I think that we could be something together Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah summer forever You’re working the blue collar So your kids can be white collar So that their kids can be artists You’re working the blue collar So your kids can be white collar So that their kids can be artists You’re working the blue collar So your kids can be white collar So that their kids can be artists You’re working the blue collar So your kids can be white collar So that their kids can be artists

I heard you made a big decision Decided to follow that 2020 vision You're going to start your own religion And turn your bedroom into a mission Well you know that everything it comes and goes And I'm just watching that river flow Oh do you remember when you wanted to grow old? But now you don't want the responsibility anymore And here we are watching the world burn again And here we are watching the world burn, my friend And here we are watching the world burn again, again, again And here we are wondering is this really the end So I thought I'd get my kicks in before the apocalypse For you know whether or not we like it, we're all going down with this ship Now I don't care about anything, I was already dying to live But if you wanna leave this planet, why don't you beam me up to the mothership? And the aliens they couldn't arrive soon enough To make us all realize how much we've been messing up Well we can take you to our leader but it'd be a waste of time Because we all know he's only got one thing on the mind And here we are watching the world burn again And here we are watching the world burn, my friend And here we are watching the world burn again, again, again And here we are wondering is this really the end Oh beam me up now baby oh baby won't you beam me up? Oh beam me up now baby oh baby won't you beam me up? You see I wanna go to space and have a little fun so beam me up now baby oh baby won't you beam me up? Oh beam me up now baby oh baby won't you beam me up? Oh beam me up now baby oh baby won't you beam me up? You see I, I wanna go to space and I wanna make love So beam me up now baby oh baby won't you beam me up? To the mothership And here we are watching the world burn again And here we are watching the world burn, my friend And here we are watching the world burn again, again, again And here we are wondering is this really the end And here we are watching the world burn again And here we are watching the world burn, my friend And here we are watching the world burn again, again, again And here we are wondering is this really the end

You got that flower power, flower power, flower power I got a half an hour, half an hour, half an hour You got that flower power, flower power, flower power I got a half an hour, half an hour, half an hour Lost generation My generation Now generatin’ New revelation You know you got it when you can’t hold on And I can’t hold on, and I can’t hold on You know you got it when you can’t hold on And I can’t hold on, and I can’t hold on You got that flower power, flower power, flower power I got a half an hour, half an hour, half an hour You got that flower power, flower power, flower power I got a half an hour, half an hour, half an hour Want another leader? Follow me Want the same leader? Follow me Want a heavy breather? Follow me Not looking for either? So follow me You know you got it when you can’t hold on And I can’t hold on, and I can’t hold on You know you got it when you can’t hold on And I can’t hold on, and I can’t hold on Tell us Father, is there hope for our kind? Well there is, but just not in this life What must we do if we want to survive? Just follow me to the end of the line How will we know it if we’ve seen the light? Oh I’ll tell you on the other side Oh let me take you to the other side I’m gonna take you to the other side Oh giddy up because we're going to the other side Yeah, to the other side, I say In a four wheel drive I say To the other side Hey, can I hitch a ride? You know you got it when you can’t hold on And I can’t hold on, and I can’t hold on You know you got it when you can’t hold on And I can’t hold on, and I can’t hold on, yeah

Here come the hippies with their bullshit habits And their long hair that they’re gonna try to sell you Well, well, we won’t talk to them No, no, we won’t talk to them Well, well, we won’t talk to them No, no, we won’t talk to them Oh here come the hippies with their bullshit habits And their long hair that they’re gonna try to sell you Well, well, we won’t talk to them No, no, we won’t talk to them Well, well, we won’t talk to them No, no, we won’t talk to them

I’m coming down from sobriety I see it all so clearly now And this is the first day of the rest of my trip I’ve started the twelve steps to buzz up my man To deliver my daily will to live And I’ll take the low road because it’s all downhill from here I’ll take the low road because I’ve got nothing to fear And if I’m gone the next time you come near Then you can scrape what’s left off the mirror And I’ve decided to abstain from being abstinent And now I just say no to getting sober I’ve gazed into the light so now I’ll do what is right And I’ll find out what that means when it’s over And I’ll take the low road because it’s all downhill from here I’ll take the low road because I’ve got nothing to fear And if I’m gone the next time you come near Then you can scrape what’s left off the mirror And I’ll take the low road because it’s all downhill from here I’ll take the low road because I’ve got nothing to fear And if I’m gone the next time you come near Then you can scrape what’s left off the mirror

The End?? 04:11
And everything always works out in the end And everything always works out in the end You can build me up to break me down Just put me back together again Singin’ everything always works out in the end

about

This is an album by the band Dirty Whips, a band in character that was totally ridiculous. Did anyone take them seriously? No. Should anyone take them seriously? Also no. But is this album amazing? Definitely yes. The band at the time of this LP consisted of Daniel McIntire (drums & backing vocals), Ali Muhareb (bass & backing vocals), Sascha Neubert (lead guitar), Guillaume Ohz (keys), and Bee Appleseed on guitar, lead vocals, and harmonica. The project began in September 2013 when Daniel dropped everything to meet up with Bee in Europe, playing shows near every night and traveling everywhere by train. The two had been best friends in middle school and high school in Canby, Oregon, but sorta drifted apart after going off to different universities in Oregon. Now they were floating around together, writing new songs that they would record as demos in Lindesberg, Sweden with Christer Pilblad. He invited them to come back and record a full album there one day and they delighted at the thought. After some more touring through South and North America on a DIY shoestring primarily organized by Bee, they linked up with bassist Ali they knew from college in Oregon and Sasha who helped organize a place to live and practice in Leipzig for thee weeks before going to Sweden for a month to record in May 2014. They met up with Bee's friend Guillaume who hitchhiked there from Bordeaux, France to play keys. Altogether, after a month in the cultural space recording studio in Lindesberg, Sweden, they ended up with a nearly completed album, though with a number of technical difficulties and a dissatisfaction with the final product at the end of their stay, the recordings spent the next six years incomplete until the pandemic brought the opportunity for Bee to dedicate another full month on his own to completing the album. Though he had returned to Sweden on tour in 2018 with Nora Keyes to make an attempt at finishing the album, it wasn't until quarantine allowed the space to go back in time to redo all the vocals and mix it to perfection with the help of one time Dirty Whips Bassist for some Portland Shows in December 2014, professional wizard Andrew Endres mixing and mastering at AEIOU Studios to be enjoyed by audiences everywhere seven years later. This is Dirty Whips' "Rock And Roll Propaganda."
